Staff Code of Conduct & Attendance Policy – Prime Care Home
Prime Care Home requires all staff to uphold professionalism, reliability, and compassionate conduct to ensure continuous, safe, and dignified care for all residents.
Punctuality

Staff must report to work on time for all scheduled shifts.

Lateness disrupts care and team coordination and is not acceptable.
Late Reporting

First instance: Verbal reminder and documentation

Second instance: Written warning
-
Third instance: Final warning and possible suspension

Continued lateness may lead to termination
Absences
-
Staff must notify management as early as possible if they cannot attend work.

Emergency absences must be reported immediately before shift time.

Medical certificates are required for sick leave beyond one day.

Unreported or unexplained absences are considered serious misconduct.
Unauthorized Absences

One instance: Written warning

Two instances: Final warning
-
Three instances: Subject to termination
Shift Handover Responsibility

Proper shift handover and completion of daily logs are mandatory.

Failure to complete handover may result in disciplinary action.
Professional Conduct
Staff must:

Wear proper uniform and identification
-
Follow all care procedures, safety rules, and infection control policies with proper PPE

Maintain confidentiality of all resident and company information

Communicate politely and professionally at all times

Avoid any form of unprofessional behavior, conflict, or misconduct
Dignity & Respect Clause
All staff must maintain the highest level of dignity, respect, and compassion toward residents, families, visitors, and colleagues at all times.
Staff must:

Treat every resident with kindness, patience, and understanding

Respect personal, cultural, emotional, and physical differences

Protect resident privacy and dignity during all care activities

Never use harsh language, threats, or inappropriate behavior

Never engage in discrimination, neglect, or abusive conduct
Any act that compromises the dignity, safety, or respect of a resident is considered serious misconduct and may result in immediate disciplinary action.
Reporting Concerns

All concerns, safety risks, or misconduct must be reported immediately to management.

Reports will be treated confidentially and investigated fairly.
